Sugaring Hair Removal
Moisturising is an important step in aftercare as well as pre-care before a treatment.
Your skin may dry out after a waxing session. Choose a natural oil or PH balanced moisturiser and avoid those that contain heavy scents.
Ingrown hairs can be avoided by exfoliation. You can exfoliate 24/48 hours after your waxing session IF you aren't experiencing any discomfort. Do not over scrub! Let the product do the work. For best results this should be done in the shower. Aim to exfoliate at least twice a week, but more is better.
Dead Sea Salt compress is also a useful tool to help with this common complaint.
Dead Sea Compress: Add 2 to 4 tablespoons of salt to a sink of water. Using a clean towel or gauze, soak in the water and apply to the desired area for approx 15 minutes.
Avoid strenuous exercise. Sweat can cause irritation.
Avoid intercourse if you have been waxed in an intimate area to avoid irritation and/or infection.
Avoid touching the waxed area with unwashed/unclean hands to avoid infection.
Avoid sunbathing/tanning beds. Waxing can cause skin sensitivity and sugaring can cause the skin to burn easier/faster.
Avoid baths/hot tubs. Sugaring exposes hair folicles which can burn in hot water and prolong the healing process. Hot tubs can harbour bacteria and this can lead to infection to the exposes folicles.
Red spots are normal after a treatment. If you are concerned or notice redness, itching, burning or any other symptom that does not resolve within 48 hours, please seak medical advice.
